Continue the Spirit of Giving past the Holiday Season.
Call RSVP to find out how you can Make A Difference!
The Long and Winding Road – Become a Road to Recoverydriver and help make that journey a little easier for cancer patients who need a ride to their treatment. Volunteer drivers donate their time and use their own vehicle so that patients can receive the lifesaving treatments they need.
Do you love the Worcester County Area? – Promote the wonderful area where we live and work by volunteering with a local agency that does just that! Help is needed with filing, mailing and some basic computer work.
Lights, Camera, ACTION! – We are freshening up our website and need people to write, film, photograph and otherwise help us to tell the stories of our great volunteers. We can provide some training and guidance, but basic skills are required. Join our Media Team today by calling RSVP.
Hospice Volunteers bring comfort, joy and love to patients who are terminally ill just by their presence. Join a hospice team and visit, share stories, play music, read or sit quietly with patients in their homes or in nursing facilities for just an hour or two per week. Formal training and support provided.
Knit, Crochet or Quilt? – Use your skills in a most rewarding way and become a “Blanketeer!” Several local groups are looking for new members to join them in this worthy cause.
Do you have retail sales experience? – If so, please call RSVP to find out about some new opportunities at local thrift and gift shops. Various days and times are available and weekend help is desperately needed!
Cancer Resource Volunteers – Give valuable information about The American Cancer Society’s programs and services, as well as local hospital programs and community resources to patients, caregivers and families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Orientation, training and all materials will be provided.
Sharpen your office skills – Whether you like to perform light administrative work, data entry, filing, copying, mailing or creating and printing flyers, we have a volunteer opportunity that’s just right for you. Call RSVP today at 508-791-7787 to find out more.
Children’s Advocate – Successful volunteers come from all walks of life and share the passion and commitment to advocate for children. You do not need any special education or background, just the desire to help these children find a healthy environment in which they can grow and flourish. Must pass a background check. Complete training provided
Greeters – Several locations are in need of someone to greet visitors and answer phones. The hours are flexible (some early evening hours now available!) and no computer skills are required. Call 508-791-7787 for information.
“You’ve got a friend” – Do you know that approximately 50% of nursing home residents never have visitors? Through a schedule that fits your lifestyle, you can make a nursing home or assisted living resident feel less lonely. Share yourself, make a positive impact and enrich your own life in the process. Bi-lingual volunteers are urgently needed.
Say “Cheese, Breeze or If You Please” – Whatever it takes to get that shot! RSVP will help you learn the basics of digital photography including image editing software, assign you to take photos of our volunteers in action and give you photo credits whenever we publish one of your images.
RSVP is funded by the Corporation for National & Community Service and is sponsored locally by Family Services of Central MA. Since 1971, RSVP has been connecting experienced adults, age 55 and over, with quality volunteer opportunities in the Worcester area. Stop by the office on the third floor at the Worcester Senior Center, 128 Providence St., Suite 305 or call 508-791-7787 to find an opportunity that’s right for you.
