You do not need any special education or background, just the desire to help these children find a healthy environment in which they can grow and flourish. Must pass a background check and complete a training session.

Cancer Resource Volunteers – Provide valuable information about The American Cancer Society’s programs and services, as well as, local hospital programs and community resources to patients, caregivers and families who are dealing with a cancer diagnosis. Orientation, training and all materials will be provided.

Project Partners – RSVP is looking for volunteers to help with various programs, projects and events, many of which are held at the Worcester Senior Center. You will assist our Signature Program Coordinators with preparation, set-up, clean-up, etc. This is a very flexible opportunity. When we have an event scheduled, we will call you. If you are interested in helping, we will sign you up! If not, we will try again for the next time.

Project Lifesaver - Join this new and developing program which provides a wristwatch-sized device to a person in danger of wandering. Should they become lost, their location will be determined by the system activation and they will be found in a very short time. Join RSVP, in partnership with LoJack SafetyNet, Inc and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Dept, to become involved in this lifesaving operation.

Senior Health and Safety - Get in on the ground floor as RSVP creates a new and unique program to be presented to local Senior Centers! It is tentatively titled “A User Friendly Home” and we are looking for crafters to help with the demonstration models, health care professionals to formulate the program and presenters to “take it on the road!”

You are Needed – Hospice volunteers bring comfort, joy and love to patients who are terminally ill through their actions. Join a hospice team and visit, share stories, play music, read or sit quietly with patients in their homes or in nursing facilities for just an hour or two per week.

Since 1971, RSVP has been connecting experienced adults, age 55 and over, with quality volunteer opportunities in the Worcester Area. Stop by the office on the third floor at the Worcester Senior Center or call 508-791-7787 to find an opportunity that’s right for you.
